Remote Mixing Services

Professional mixes built around real performances.

You don’t need to be in the room to get a great mix. Black Forest Recording’s remote mixing service is designed for artists working with full multitrack recordings — drums, guitars, bass, vocals, keys — who want a cohesive, musical mix that feels intentional and human.

This service focuses on projects where the mix is shaped around the interaction of real parts and performances. If you’re unsure whether your session is a good fit, I’m happy to take a look and talk it through. It’s for real recordings that deserve thoughtful balance, depth, and musical decision‑making.

Whats Included

Every remote mix is treated as a complete song, not a preset pass. Your mix includes detailed balance work across all provided multitracks, musical EQ and compression, saturation and spatial processing where it serves the song, and automation to shape dynamics, energy, and transitions. Two rounds of revisions are included so we can fine‑tune details together, and final delivery includes a high‑resolution stereo WAV along with a streaming‑ready version. Clear communication is part of the process from start to finish.

Before And After Mix Example

The best way to understand my approach is to hear it. Below is an example comparing a rough mix to the final mix after remote mixing at Black Forest Recording. The goal isn’t to change the performance — it’s to bring clarity, impact, and balance while keeping the song’s character intact.

When listening, pay attention to how the elements sit together, how the dynamics move, and how the mix supports the emotion of the song rather than flattening it.

File Requirements

For the best results, sessions should be delivered as consolidated WAV files that all start from the same point (typically bar 1), with a consistent sample rate and bit depth across every track. Files should be clearly labeled, and including the song tempo and a rough mix is strongly encouraged, as it helps guide balance and intent. Full upload instructions and delivery details are provided after booking.

How The Process Works

After you submit your project, you’ll upload your multitracks and any notes about the song. I review the session, confirm pricing and timeline, and then begin the mix. You’ll receive an initial mix for feedback, followed by up to two rounds of revisions to dial in the details. Once everything feels right, final files are delivered in the agreed formats. The process is straightforward, collaborative, and transparent from start to finish.
